Component: AIR CONDITIONER

Details: A/C STOPPED WORKING. WAS TOLD THAT A STONE DAMAGED THE CONDENSER UNIT, THUS A "ROAD HAZARD" NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY, ACCORDING TO DEALER. COST TO REPAIR: $650. UNIT IS LOW TO THE GROUND, VULNERABLE TO DAMAGE. NUMEROUS WEBSITES NOTE PEOPLE EXPERIENCING EXACT DAMAGE, NOT COVERED, COSTING APPROX. SAME AMOUNT. SOMETIMES DAMAGE RECURS. HONDA DENIES EVER HAVING A COMPLAINT ON THIS SITUATION, WHICH IS NOT TRUE. HONDA SHOULD PROVIDE A SHIELD TO PROTECT THIS EXPENSIVE, VULNERABLE PART. SAME PART ALSO ACTIVATES INTERIOR DEFROSTER, WHICH WILL NOT WORK IF CONDENSER IS DAMAGED. THAT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AS VISIBILITY IS REDUCED. HAVING COOL AIR IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU HAVE ASTHMA, ALLERGY, ARE ELDERLY, OR IF YOU LIVE IN A VERY HOT CLIMATE. HONDA IS REMISS IN NOT BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM AND ARE MAKING MONEY OFF OF A FLAWED DESIGN. THERE IS NO SHIELD OR OTHER DEVICE OFFERED BY HONDA TO KEEP THE SAME DAMAGE FROM HAPPENING. I DRIVE CAREFULLY AND KEEP MY CAR WELL-MAINTAINED. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH ANY OBJECT ON THE ROAD SURFACE IS A POTENTIAL HAZARD TO THIS CONDENSER UNIT. Component: AIR CONDITIONER

Details: I BOUGHT MY 2006 HONDA ACCORD IN APRIL LAST YEAR. ON JUNE 2006, MY A/C CONDENSER HAD A LEAK DUE TO "ROAD DEBRIS". HONDA DEALER WOULDN'T COVER THIS BECAUSE "ROAD DAMAGE" IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THEY CHARGED ME $700 TO REPLACE A NEW A/C CONDENSER. LAST WEEK, I TRIED TO TURN ON MY A/C AND FOUND OUT THE AIR WAS NOT COLD AT ALL. I TOOK MY ACCORD BACK TO THE DEALER AND LEARNED THAT I WAS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER TOLD ME A SMALL PEBBLE MIGHT DAMAGE THE CONDENSER CAUSING ALL THE FREON TO LEAK. I REPLACED TWO A/C CONDENSERS WITHIN A YEAR. I HAD DRIVEN MANY OTHER CARS IN THE PAST AND NEVER HAD MY A/C CONDENSER BREAK DOWN BECAUSE OF A SMALL PEBBLE. HONDA ACCORD HAS A DESIGN FLAW ON THE VENTING SYSTEM AND SHOULD TAKE ACTION TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE MAIN PROBLEM OF THE VENTING SYSTEM IS IT DOES NOT PROTECT THE A/C CONDENSER FROM THE SMALL OF PEBBLES OR DEBRIS. THE LOCATION OF THE A/C CONDENSER ALLOWS THE TUBING EXPOSED IN FRONT OF THE FINS WHERE IT IS LIKELY TO BE HIT. ANOTHER IMPROVEMENT ON THE A/C CONDENSER IS USING A STRONGER MATERIAL ON THIS PRODUCT SO IT IS NOT THAT FRAGILE. THE HONDA MANUFACTURER SHOULD REPLACE MY A/C CONDENSERS AND IMPROVE THE DESIGN OF THE VENTING SYSTEM. *NM

Details: BRAKES ARE EXTREMELY SENSITIVE. APPLYING THE BRAKES WHILE DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS CAN OFTEN GIVE THE FEELING THAT THE OCCUPANTS MAY HIT THE WINDSHIELD...EVEN THOUGH WEARING SEATBELTS. HONDA SERVICE TECH'S HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THEY ARE THAT WAY BUT MAINTAIN "THAT IS JUST THE WAY THEY ARE" AND "YOU'RE JUST GOING TO HAVE TO GET USED TO IT." I'VE OWNED THIS CAR ALMOST 2 YEARS AND IT IS THE ONLY ONE I EVER DRIVE...AND I AM NOT ABLE TO BRAKE THIS CAR SMOOTHLY. WHEN I OFFER TO LET OTHERS DRIVE MY CAR THEY COMMENT ON THE TOUCHY BRAKES AND HAVE MENTIONED THAT IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. AT 36K MILES I HAD TO CHANGE THE BACK BRAKE PADS. I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT'S NOT RIGHT BUT HE SAID SORRY YOU NEED THEM NOTHING I CAN DO. 13K MILES LATER THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. Details: I PURCHASED MY 2006 HONDA ACCORD IN NOVEMBER 2005. I NOTICED A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO THAT I HAVE A VIBRATION IN THE BRAKING SYSTEM. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD TO TAKE THE REAR ROTORS OFF AND SAND THEM DOWN. I WAS PERPLEXED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 13,000 MILES ON IT. ACCORDING TO HONDA STANDARDS, THAT IS NOT EVEN A BREAK IN PERIOD. I HAVE ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY ALARM SYSTEM THE COUPLE OF MONTHS I HAD IT, BUT THAT PROBLEM HAS BEEN REMEDIED. SINCE THEN, I NOTICED MY HEADLIGHTS DIM ON OCCASION AND I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THIS IS A "NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC" OF THE VEHICLE. IT AMAZES ME HOW SENSITIVE THIS CAR IS. I THOUGHT THE SITUATION WITH THE BRAKES WAS IMPORTANT TO LOG A COMPLAINT. THIS IS MY THIRD HONDA, AND THIS IS THE VERY FIRST TIME I HAD TO TAKE A HONDA TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR OTHER THAN AN USUAL SERVICE. I AM NOT VERY HAPPY ABOUT THIS. I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH A NEW VEHICLE HAVING RESURFACED ROTORS SO I HAD THE DEALER MAKE A NOTATION ON MY WARRANTY ORDER. WITHIN A WEEK I WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY RESURFACED THEM AGAIN AND I WAS REAL UNHAPPY BECAUSE WHEN I LEFT THE DEALER THE PROBLEM WAS STILL THERE. I CONTACTED THE SERVICE MANAGER WHO AGREED TO HAVE THE ROTORS CHANGED WHICH SUPPOSEDLY THEY DID. WELL I AM STARTING TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME TYPE OF THUMPING WHEN EXITING THE HIGHWAY BUT AT A LESSER LEVEL AT THIS TIME. I DO FEEL HOWEVER THAT HONDA MAY HAVE A PROBLEM IN THIS AREA AND WOULD HOPE THEY CORRECT IT SOON AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE OWNED HONDA'S SINCE 1975 AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THE AMOUNT OF PROBLEM I HAVE HAD WITH THIS HONDA AS I HAVE ON ALL MY OTHER HONDA'S COMBINED. *JB

Details: THE THIRD INCIDENT TOOK PLACE ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2006. MY VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 3175 MILES. THE DETAILS OF THE INCIDENT WERE AS FOLLOWS: I PARKED MY VEHICLE IN THE GARAGE AT APPROXIMATELY 4:30 PM ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2006. I STARTED MY VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 5:40 AM ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2006, AND ALLOWED THE ENGINE TO IDLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 4 TO 5 MINUTES. I INCREASED THE RPM TO 1500 TWO TIMES FOR ONE SECOND EACH. I REVERSED AND BRAKED. MY VEHICLE STOPPED. I DROVE FORWARD UP AN INCLINE AND BRAKED. THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME VERY HARD. I WAS UNABLE TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL. MY VEHICLE ROLLED INTO THE STREET. A FEW SECONDS LATER, THE BRAKE PEDAL LOST PRESSURE AND SUDDENLY DROPPED. MY VEHICLE STOPPED SHORTLY THEREAFTER. FORTUNATELY, NO PEDESTRIANS OR CARS WERE PRESENT IN THE STREET. I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO., INC. I WAS DIRECTED TO CONTACT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WITH THE DISTRICT PARTS & SERVICE MANAGER (DPSM). I FINALLY SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR TODAY AND THE DPSM NEVER SHOWED UP. APPARENTLY, SHE HAD CALLED IN SICK. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DPSM BECAUSE SHE DOES NOT HAVE A SET SCHEDULE. I HAVE CALLED AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO., INC. THREE TIMES AND I HAVE WRITTEN ONE LETTER. SINCE THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, NO PARTS HAVE BEEN REPAIRED OR REPLACED. *JB

Details: DROVE TO WORK. PARKED IN GARAGE AT APPROXIMATELY 3:00 PM ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2006. STARTED ENGINE AT APPROXIMATELY 12:00 PM ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2006. IDLED ENGINE FOR APPROXIMATELY 4 TO 5 MINUTES. INCREASED RPM TO 1500 TWO TIMES FOR ONE SECOND EACH. REVERSED. BRAKED. DROVE FORWARD UP AN INCLINE. BRAKED. TURNED RIGHT. DROVE FORWARD ON A FLAT SURFACE AT NO MORE THAN 20 MPH. APPROACHED A STOP SIGN. BRAKED IN ADVANCE OF THE STOP SIGN. THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME VERY HARD. I WAS UNABLE TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CAR ROLLED INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. THE CAR EVENTUALLY STOPPED. FORTUNATELY, NO PEDESTRIANS OR CARS WERE PRESENT AT THE INTERSECTION. APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES AFTER THE INCIDENT, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND SCHEDULED A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2006, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ROAD TESTED THE VEHICLE. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE MY COMPLAINT. ALL 4 WHEELS WERE REMOVED AND ALL 4 BRAKE PADS WERE INSPECTED. THE FRONT PADS WERE AT 8.4 MM AND THE REAR PADS WERE AT 5.3 MM. ALL FRONT AND REAR PADS WERE LUBED. THE PROBLEM REMAINED UNRESOLVED. *JB

IT WAS BOUGHT IN AUGUST 2002. WHEN I TRADED THAT CAR IN TO COGGINS HONDA IT HAS A TOTAL OF 57,816 MILES AND IT RAN A ROUND TRIP AND A HALF FROM NEW YORK TO FLORIDA AND BACK. IT WAS BOUGHT IN FLORIDA AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO NEW YORK VIA THE AUTO TRAIN WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR THIS HONDA CAR WILL HAVE DOUBLED ITS MILEAGE. THE MATS IN THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE APPEARS THAT SOMEONE ELSE WAS IN USE OF THIS CAR. IT IS HIGHLY IMPOSSIBLE THAT I WILL BE KEEPING THIS CAR MUCH LONGER. Details: I WAS IN A HIGH SPEED MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH ALONG WITH A COWORKER THAT I CAR POOL WITH IN THE 2006 ACCORD WHEN A DOG RAN OUT IN FRONT OF THE CAR AT 4:30 AM ON THE HIGHWAY ON MY WAY TO WORK. I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 70-75 MPH, BRAKED AND SWERVED, BUT STILL HIT THE DOG AT HIGH SPEED. THE DOG WAS OF MEDIUM TO LARGE SIZE APPROXIMATELY 60-70 LBS AND CAUSED CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BUMPER. I THEN LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR, WENT OF THE ROAD , AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED AT LEAST 3 TIMES. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED A GREAT AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BUMPER AS WELL AS TO THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR, YET NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I WAS TOLD BY MY HONDA DEALERSHIP THAT "THE SENSORS FOR THE AIRBAGS WERE VERY SMALL AND MUST BE HIT DIRECTLY IN ORDER FOR THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY, SO THE SENSORS MUST NOT HAVE BEEN HIT JUST RIGHT , AND THERE WAS PROBABLY NO REASON TO BE CONCERNED. HOWEVER, ANYONE WHO SAW THE DAMAGE TO MY CAR, INCLUDING STATE TROOPERS, EMS, TOW TRUCK DRIVERS, AS WELL AS FAMILY AND FRIENDS, ALL STATED THAT THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED IN THIS INSTANCE. I DID NOT FIND THAT THESE AIRBAGS TO BE VERY BENEFICIAL IF WHAT THE PERSON AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP SAID WAS TRUE. BOTH MY PASSENGER AND I SUFFERED WHIPLASH, BACK AND NECK STRAIN, AND MILD CONCUSSIONS, THANKFULLY THAT WAS ALL. HOWEVER I COULD NOT HELP BUT WONDER IF THE AIRBAGS WOULD HAVE SAVED US FROM THE INJURIES WE DID SUSTAIN. THE CAR WAS TOTALED BY INSURANCE COMPANY . THEREFORE, NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN DONE. I AM DEBATING WHETHER TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA REGARDING A POSSIBLE DEFECT IN AIRBAG SENSORS.*AK

Details: FROM WHAT I CAN TELL THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. JUST BOUGHT 2006 ACCORD SE MID APRIL TAKING DELIVERY A WEEK LATER. RETURNED THE VEHICLE TODAY AFTER LONG TRIP TO BORDERING STATE IN WHICH THE CONNECTION AT THE DOOR PANEL OF THE SHOULDER SAFETY BELT RATTLES RIGHT INTO THE DRIVERS LEFT EAR. HAD THIS TRIP BEEN TAKEN WITHIN THE 5 DAY PERIOD AFTER TAKING DELIVERY AND BEEN TOLD IT WAS SOMETHING WHICH COULD NOT BE FIXED, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN RETURNED TO THE DEALER FOR RETURN OF OUR 99 ACURA. NOW I HAVE A BRAND NEW CAR WITH RATTLE AT MY LEFT EAR AND MOST UNHAPPY. I LOVE DRIVING AND THIS TAKES AWAY DRIVING PLEASURE. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST HONDA WE HAVE OWNED BUT MAY WELL BE THE LAST! WE HAVE PRAISED THE HONDA PRODUCTS WHEN ASKED ABOUT OUR THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ON HONDAS, AS HUSBAND HAD ACURA WHICH WAS TRADED IN FOR THIS VEHICLE. WAS ALSO TOLD THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM AND HAS BEEN FOR A FEW YEARS. WE HAD 87 CIVIC, 90 ACCORD SE, 99 ACURA, AND 97 ACCORD SE. THIS IS FIRST TIME WE HAVE HAD A PROBLEM THAT WAS NOT FIXED!!!! HAD THE FEELING SINCE DOES NOT AFFECT HOW THE CAR RUNS OR SAFETY FACTOR, IT IS NOTHING. *JB

Details: TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ACCORD EX. WHILE DRIVING, THE ALARM AND THE HORN AUTOMATICALLY ACTIVATED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. AS A RESULT, OTHER DRIVERS SEND RUDE SIGNALS TO HER AND SHE FEELS THAT THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE HONDA DEALER IN HER AREA AND A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. SHE ALSO NOTIFIED HONDA'S REGIONAL OFFICE WHO STATED THAT HER VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND NOTHING CAN BE DONE. HONDA ADVISED HER TO GO TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND USE THE KEY IN ORDER TO STOP THE FAILURE. THE ENGINE SIZE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 25,564 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.

Details: I WAS DRIVING IN THE RIGHT LANE OF AN EXPRESS WAY AND EXITING ONTO THE EXIT RAMP. MY 2006 HONDA ACCORD WAS ACCELERATING, SO I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW DOWN TO NO AVAIL. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV AT AN ACCELERATED RATE, SO I CONTINUED TO PUMP AND PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT THE CAR WAS NOT STOPPING AND STILL CONTINUED GOING FORWARD. WITHIN SECONDS I WAS AT THE TOP OF THE RAMP?WHERE I QUICKLY OBSERVED 3 ROWS OF CARS (ON THE LEFT SIDE) WAITING AT THE RED LIGHT. AT THAT POINT, I REALIZED THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP AND I DID NOT WANT TO HIT ANY OF THE CARS WAITING AT THE RED LIGHT?SO I DIRECTED THE CAR STRAIGHT AHEAD AND BEYOND THE 3 ROWS OF WAITING CARS TO AVOID HITTING THEM?AND HOPING I WOULD HIT A POLE TO STOP THE CAR. THE NEXT THING I REMEMBER I AWOKE, THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS SHATTERED, I HAD SHATTERED GLASS ON MY BODY, THE AIR BAGS HAD ALREADY DEFLATED, AND SOMEONE WAS YELLING TO OPEN MY DOOR. THIS, I COULD NOT DO?AND I JUST SAT THERE. THEN SOMEONE JAMMED THE DOOR OPEN?AND I WAS PULLED OUT TO A WAITING AMBULANCE. OTHER CARS WERE HIT AND THERE WERE SERIOUS INJURIES. HONDA: WHY DID THIS HAPPEN? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BRAKES?TO MAKE THEM MALFUNCTION WHEN I KEPT PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL CONTINUALLY? WE ARE CURRENTLY TRYING TO FIND THE CAUSE. *JB

THIS IS BRAND NEW CAR. REPAIR COST $700 AND IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. IN FACT, AC CONDENSER IS EXPOSED TO INCOMING FLOW AND IS NOT PROTECTED. APPARENTLY THE CONDENSER IS ALSO VERY FRAGILE. HONDA SAID THAT IT IS NORMAL. I THINK IT IS NOT. THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED, AT LEAST BY PROVIDING FREE REPAIR OF THIS UNDUE DAMAGE. *JB

Details: WE EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM IN STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT ON OUR TRIP BACK FROM AN OUT OF TOWN TRIP LAST WEEKEND. AS A RESULT OF THIS EXPERIENCE MY WIFE IS NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. AFTER A FEW HOURS OF HIGHWAY DRIVING, AND DECELERATING THROUGH AN EXIT RAMP, THEN RE-ACCELERATING AND ATTEMPTING TO STOP AT A STOP LIGHT WE EXPERIENCED AND AN EXTREMELY RESISTANT BRAKE PEDAL REQUIRING EXTREMELY HARD PEDAL PRESSURE AND THE ENGINE SEEMED TO CONTINUE TO REV DURING BRAKING. WHILE STOPPED AT THE LIGHT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV ABNORMALLY. OUR 30-YEAR-OLD SON WAS DRIVING. HE DID NOT MOVE HIS FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL FOR FEAR OF WHAT WOULD HAPPEN. HE SWITCHED INTO PARK AND THE ENGINE STOPPED REVVING. WHILE KEEPING HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL HE PUT THE CAR BACK IN DRIVE. THEN THE ENGINE SEEMED NORMAL AND THE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE RETURNED TO NORMAL. THIS WAS A DISCONCERTING EXPERIENCE BECAUSE IT WAS ABNORMALLY DIFFICULT TO STOP, AND WE ALMOST RAN INTO A CAR IN FRONT OF US. THERE WERE THREE ADULT WITNESSES TO THIS FRIGHTENING EPISODE, MY WIFE, OUR ADULT SON, AND ME. WE DID NOT USE THE CRUISE CONTROL AT ANY TIME DURING THIS TRIP. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OUR HONDA DEALER. THEY EXAMINED THE CAR THOROUGHLY AND COULD FIND NO PROBLEMS. THEY HYPOTHESIZED THAT THIS MAY HAVE BEEN A COMPUTER ERROR, BUT THE SYSTEMS TEST OUT FINE NOW. NOW OUR FAMILY IS LEFT WITH A CAR THAT WE KNOW HAS A SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT, AND WE DRIVE IT IN FEAR THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN, HURTING OTHERS OR US. WE ALSO RECOGNIZE THE POSSIBILITY THAT THIS STEALTH DEFECT MAY BE LURKING TO HURT OTHERS IN OTHER 2006 HONDA ACCORD V6 CARS. *JB

THE REP SAID IT SEEMED TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS KIND OF TIRE AND HE WILL TRY TO GET US A WARRANTY EXCHANGE. BUT BECAUSE OF MICHELIN DENYING THE PROBLEM, WE PROB. WONT GET THE TIRE EXCHANGED. Details: ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, I HAD A BLOW-OUT WHILE DRIVING MY 2006 HONDA ACCORD SE. THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS ROUGHLY IN MARCH OF 2006, AND THE SECOND ONE NOVEMBER 16, 2006. IN BOTH INSTANCES, THE CAR WAS TRAVELING ON A STRAIGHT ROAD AT ABOUT 65 MPH BOTH BLOW-OUTS OCCURRED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, THE FIRST ONE FRONT AND THE SECOND REAR. THE FIRST BLOW-OUT NEARLY PUT ME INTO THE GUARD RAIL AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE ALLOY RIM. THE OTHER BLOW-OUT DID NOT CAUSE ANY LOSS OF CONTROL. BOTH BLOW-OUTS OCCURRED ACCOMPANIED BY A LOUD SOUND, NOT SURE IF IT WAS FROM THE RELEASE OF AIR OR THE RIM SLAMMING TO THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH. BOTH BLOW-OUTS RESULTED IN A GAPING HOLE IN THE SIDEWALLS OF THE TIRES. THE INITIAL FAILURE HAPPENED WITH 3000 MILES ON THE CAR AND THE SECOND WITH 9000 MILES. ALL 4 TIRES CONSTANTLY APPEAR TO BE LOW ON AIR ALTHOUGH WITHIN THE RECOMMENDED PSI RANGE. NEITHER TIRE COULD BE REPAIRED AND BOTH TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE SPENT $400 REPLACING THESE DAMAGED TIRES ON A CAR THAT IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. *JB
