2008 | David L. | MASON MI | 10/31/09 | 4.00 | I put 64000 miles on this car in 18 months with no problems. Bought a 2010 in Aug. | 2008 | Manuel Z. | WORCESTER MA | 10/17/09 | 5.00 | Use of defogger turns on air conditioner. | 2008 | Jeanette V. | TOPANGA CA | 10/17/09 | 4.00 | headlights go off randomly when driving. Toyota won't do anything about it. | 2008 | Peanut J. | BRONX NY | 10/05/09 | 5.00 | excellent | 2008 | Terry G. | MARSHFIELD WI | 07/01/09 | 4.00 | I have 13,000 miles on my 08 Prius Touring model. I am now about to replace the HID headlight for the second time. I consider this to be a chronic problem with the Prius. This is a very expensive fix. If this continues I will have to sell the car before the warranty period us up. | 2008 | Garry C. | LITTLETON CO | 06/26/09 | 5.00 | 49.5 MPG Average - Love it! | 2008 | Ellie L. | MILL VALLEY CA | 06/04/09 | 1.00 | gas bladder does not fill properly
air conditioning unit leaves foul smell after use | 2008 | REBECCA M. | SOLVANG CA | 05/13/09 | 5.00 | I've yet to find anything I dislike about this car. It's the first time in my life I've been absolutely in love with a car. | 2008 | Becky T. | HAMILTON MT | 04/29/09 | 2.00 | I am not getting anywhere near the estimated fuel economy for my Prius. My fuel economy is worse in city driving than highway. I am averaging about 38mpg. I have called the dealership where i purchased the car and have been told that the Prius is "test driven" in Arizona where it is hot and when it is hot in Montana I will get better mileage. They would be happy to look it over but are sure they will find nothing wrong and it will cost me over $70.00 per hour for labor. Also, I frequently have difficulty fueling the car,
the pump will shut off and when I attempt to put more fuel in it will shut off again and again etc. Anyone else out there having these problems? | 2008 | Alan H. |
| 03/22/09 | 5.00 | Gas cell fueling issue, especially in cold weather, cuts off from filling 10 - 15 litres before it is actually full. Takes about 15 to slowly try to fill it. Gas Gurgles out of tank onto side of vehicle, and it is still not Completely full. | 2008 | Mike G. | WEST ISLIP NY | 03/06/09 | 4.00 | A solid car with good appointments. However, there are a few quirks that could be improved on, but nothing major. | 2008 | Craig B. | LOS ANGELES CA | 02/06/09 | 2.00 | Body integrity very poor - rattles, clunks and more.... | 2008 | Irene T. |
| 01/05/09 | 1.00 | Another problem. My Prius needed an O2 sensor and it is just 10 months old. It had poor gas mileage and surging then finally a malfunction light appeared and the computer indicated it needed this sensor. It was back ordered and would take a month to get. | 2008 | Aus C. |
| 01/04/09 | 4.00 | Dec/08-So far very good. Attaining 50 mpg average in Dec. Canadian weather
Mar/09-Have gone through the winter with no problems. Car is a bit cooler inside in extreme cold than my non-hybrid Camry but -30 C drains off a lot of heat. Fuel low flashes at 15 litres remaining and am getting better at pushing the car approx. 100km past that indicator to a fill, then about 41 litres goes in. Trick is to fill it slowly. Tank holds 45 litres. | 2008 | Jerald B. | NOVATO CA | 12/15/08 | n/a | gps system is a very poor
better units available for $150 anywhere | 2008 | Mary K. | COLORADO SPRINGS CO | 12/07/08 | 0.00 | Just beginning to shop | 2008 | John M. |
| 11/12/08 | 5.00 | the ride is great for a small car, gas milage is in the 50's mpg | 2008 | Bob M. | FAIRPORT NY | 10/25/08 | 5.00 | This is a great car except for the headlights. On low beam, you can only see about 10 feet in front of you. With the high beams on, it is a little better, or about as good as another car with their low beams on. This is totally unacceptable! | 2008 | Spencer B. | ANN ARBOR MI | 10/09/08 | 4.00 | Passenger seat squeeks | 2008 | JOHN C. | CHESTER VA | 10/05/08 | 5.00 | Understeer is aggravation. Considering after-market stiffener addons. | 2008 | Curtis B. | VIRGINIA BEACH VA | 09/16/08 | 5.00 | I love my Prius. However, I wish that Toyota didn't block out the dvd nav screen when the car is moving. It's my choice whether to look at it while driving. I also would like the option of having an ev switch to allow electric only driving like the Prius's have in all other countries. | 2008 | Barbara H. | GOSHEN IN | 09/16/08 | 4.00 | I cannot determine optimal tire pressure, I dont understand how to use the vent only system with no ac or heat | 2008 | Joanne B. | MORRISVILLE PA | 09/14/08 | 3.00 | Several dashboard images lit up and my car stalled while driving. I had to have by 4 month old car towed Several computer codes were noted by the dealer with no explanation. | 2008 | R F. | KYLE TX | 07/16/08 | 5.00 | radio reception is very poor, rear wiper blade defective, great gas milesage and power. | 2008 | Richard O. | SANTA CLARA CA | 05/02/08 | 5.00 | I'm very happy with the general performance and economy. The only complaints I have are wind noise and ride quality on rough roads. The noise or buffeting when one or both rear windows are down, even part way, is intolerable. It can't be used for cooling. | 2008 | Rick S. | VICTORIA TX | 05/02/08 | 0.00 | bb | 2008 | Tim G. | SAN CARLOS CA | 05/01/08 | 4.00 | d | 2008 | Jason S. | FOLEY AL | 04/13/08 | 5.00 | This is THE BEST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED! I can't wait until the NEW 2010 Prius is released! | 2008 | Robert J. R. | FORT MOHAVE AZ | 01/17/08 | 5.00 | ODI Case Number: 10215277 I too had the left headlight go out twice. If this person would just check the wires leading to the headlight. He/She will find the are too tight and bent down. If you gently pull up on the wires, and straighten them out, lights will work fine! |
