VA | 12/30/08 | 3.00 | 2006 model has a problem with the External Lamps, in two and a half years, I have had to replace three (3) lamps, two left and one right lamp. The first two replacements were within the first 14 months after purchase (one on each side). The third replacement took place after the warranty lapsed, but Toyota reimbursted me for the cost. Now the right lamp is in need of replacement, just beyond the warranty period of one year. These lamps only last for about 13 to 15 months and the cost to replace is $500 for each replacement. These replacements were not covered by the warranty as I was told bulbs were not covered because they wear out due to "wear and tear". I do not know how they are "wear and tear" when the actual bulbs still light at times.
