| 08/27/08 | 5.00 | noisy coolant water pump | 2005 | Chris G. | WEST LAFAYETTE IN | 07/08/08 | 2.00 | Was not the gas mileage that was advertised. Typical problem with Prius owners that I know. was advertised at 61/51 and I have never broken the 50 mark unless I get gas at the top of a hill and coast down! I see they have changed the mileage rating this year to 40 something... | 2005 | Thomas S. | SKANEATELES NY | 05/25/08 | 4.00 | at 50k the car had general system failure and car would not go or turn off. It took the dealer over a week to find the problem and fix it. | 2005 | Nancy Q. | OCEANSIDE CA | 05/21/08 | 3.00 | ECU failed on the car last week | 2005 | Larry A. | MELVILLE NY | 05/20/08 | 4.00 | Prius-2005...tail lightsw & front directional lights burn out quite frequently. I have replaced 6 bulbs to date (5/19/08) | 2005 | Robert P. | PHOENIX AZ | 05/05/08 | 5.00 | Great car. We love it. | 2005 | John B. | Danville CA | 07/13/07 | 5.00 | A joy to drive and save expenses. | 2005 | Sheldon O. | CEDAR GLEN CA | 02/01/07 | 3.00 | Do all Prius get poor tire wear? My 2005 and my friends 2004 and 2002 also eat tires way to soon. The last set of 80,000 mile tires only got 22,000 miles before the steal belts started showing. I do live in the mountains but my other 6 cars get more then twice that mileage. We have seven in our family that drive. | 2005 | Ben G. | ALPENA MI | 09/11/06 | 5.00 | I have a 2005 Prius and have had very little trouble with it. I have had each front wheel bearing replaced because of an error caused by the factory. They left a plastic separator between the wheel(aluminum) and steel hub. This didn't allow the wheels to be tightened properly and they came loose while my wife was driving the car. Because of these being left on the car after being manufactured, both front wheel bearings failed, at different times. The dealership replaced them both being made aware of these plastic separators that were left in place inadvertently.
Now, my headlights will not stay in adjustment. I have had the automatic leveler replaced once, have had the headlights adjusted manually, and now they are again adjusted to high as cars constantly flash their lights at me. I need once again to have this replaced, an inconvenience as it is a 160 mile drive, round trip, to the dealership. I don't know if there will be a charge or not. Stand by. | 2005 | Mark G. | LILBURN GA | 03/17/06 | 4.00 | Great car..averaging between 45 - 50 mpg | 2005 | Emily C. | WALNUT CREEK CA | 02/10/06 | 3.00 | not much power going up hill | 2005 | Elaine Schmidt S. | LOS ANGELES CA | 11/08/05 | 3.00 | I love the way this car stretches out my gas mileage. It's very comfortable for passengers and fun to drive. My main complaint is the positioning of the side airbags at each end of the windshield. They really obstruct my views of oncoming traffic when making a righthand turn or at a 4-way stop. Be extra careful until you get used to them. |
