They advised that they had received a techical service bulletin for this problem. The steering column needed lubricating. We had purchased an extended warranty on the date of purchase. Found out you have to have a mechanical breakdown before it will cover anything. This was a rip-off. The repair for the steering problem would be $400+. I've taken it back to the dealer three times now, only to have them put it on a computer, that resets something, and for a few months, I'm AOK, and then the problem returns. I never thought to "google" the issue until yesterday, and voila, I noticed that lots of toyota owners have documented this issue, particularly with the 2007 Camry. I'm now more educated about the problem and intend to move forward with a process to resolve this consumer safety matter.
