Front brake system replaced at 16k miles in Dec. 05. Resurfaced rotors and sanded pads in Feb. 07, Nov. 07 and Feb. 08. Now it is Aug. 09 and the problem continues. I put in a formal compaint to the 1-800-999-1009 with Sergerio and was told Honda would pay 75% even though they had a recall on this model for the transmission. After informing Sergerio that Honda should stand behind their product and fix my transmission since I did my part he stated Honda didn't have to do anything to help me. He then contacted the dealership and informed them I had to sign a Release Form stating I would not sue Honda. So in order to get the 75% credit, I was FORCED to sign the release form. PA | 02/22/09 | 2.00 | Purchased new 2004 Honda EX Fully loaded (vin # 1HGCCM66554A027543) with the expectations of purchasing a car that was suppose to be very reliable. Transmission failrue at 119,000 miles. Pulled off ramp in Charleroi, PA and car would not go anywhere. Almost hit by on coming vehicle. Spoke to Honda's National Service Department and they indicated the car was on the recall list for a defect of transmission heat build up in with possible crash implications. Filter was installed while on lot before sold. Number of effected cars was 1,009.796. When contacting Honda's national service represenative indicated nothing can be done and I was out of luck. Honda Dealer wanted $4000 dollars to change transmission without any type of product review. Went to local transmission shop who is a friend and provided a cost of $3000. Fixing car locally provided me with a sense that the car was going to be fixed right and not get ripped off by the Honda Dealer again. Local Transmission shop indicated Honda was using inferior parts in their transmission from 2001-2004 and the after market parts are still much better than what Honda is currently using today to build their transmissions. Shop indicated he has seen way to many issues with this transmission and customer stating Honda did not care about the rising amount issue with the transmission or the saftey of their customers. Car is currently being fxed and I will update my complaint once car is repaired and sit down with the expert on the specefic issues pertaining to my 2004 Accord EX transmission failure. Transmission shop owner did recommended a class action suit against Honda by the owners with transmission issues. I will never purchase another Honda and tell my friends and family about my expierence with the car and Honda national and local service to persuade them from ever buying a Honda product unless Honda reimburses me for the cost of my new transmission. | 2004 | Philip T. | KILLEEN
