| 07/23/09 | 5.00 | no complaints at now | 1999 | Herb W. | COLUMBUS OH | 03/03/09 | 4.00 | Can't really complain about anything out of norm for a 10 yr old vehicle. I love the look of the vehicle. Have made expected repairs with no surprises. Of course with 132K+ miles one must wonder about the AT. Find the vehicle more versatile than most SUV/CUV/?UV. I'm satisfied enough that if something happened to the one I own, I would at least look for another of the same vintage. I do not like the look of the current TC at all. | 1999 | Ted B. | BRIGHTON IA | 02/25/09 | 4.00 | serpentine belt falls off in heavy rain

| 02/23/09 | 1.00 | failure in most components of this van. air conditioner, transmission ,body rust and perferation in early years, bearings, waterpump etc. etc. | 1999 | Frederic C. | GLASTONBURY CT | 02/23/09 | 5.00 | replaced water pump, otherwise troublefree in first 100,000 miles, 10 years | 1999 | John M. | CORDOVA TN | 10/24/08 | 2.00 | numerous problems w/electrical system | 1999 | M T. | ELGIN IL | 10/09/08 | 4.00 | I love the design of my AWD Town & Country - it's roomier inside and smaller outside than 90% of SUVs. And since most SUVs never go off-road anyway, an AWD van is a more intelligent vehicle in nearly every respect.
However, Chrysler vans of this vintage are notorious for their trouble-prone transmissions - I'm on my third one in 130,000 miles. | 1999 | Brent H. | SILVER CITY NM | 06/25/08 | 4.00 | door locks, interior lights, chime, and door ajar light go on and off while driving. Very annoying. | 1999 | Leo P. | COVENTRY CT | 05/28/08 | 4.00 | Can't Kill it! | 1999 | Stanley S. | MILLVILLE NJ | 08/04/06 | 3.00 | TRANSMISSION PROBLEM IGNORED BY DEALER | 1999 | Mark U. | LEAVENWORTH KS | 09/27/05 | 2.00 | We've had to replace the circuit board behind the instrument cluster twice at $600 a whack. The windshield wiper arm fell off the shaft and we lost use of the driver's side ww wiper because someone at the factory didn't use a lock nut on that side. We also had to replace the A/C condenser under the dashboard at a cost of $1,287. A starter relay went out and some other little things. Basically, the T & C starting having maintenance problems at 80,000 miles. I've had less trouble with my 1989 BMW with 247,000 miles on it. | 1999 | Dee G. | PONTIAC MI | 01/09/05 | 1.00 | My rating would have remained good except I have a enormous repair bill now, while driving about 45 miles per hour - I heard a loud pop, shortly thereafter the engine died and I was unable to go forward or backward. Upon inspection it is due to the deferential pin breaking, repelling itself with gears into the transmission thereby locking it. rendering it totally inoperable. Until it is rebuilt and/or replaced. The mechanic explained it looked like someone was driving 60 miles per hour and threw the car in reverse without braking! Looking at the report complaints slipping out of gear is somewhat of a product flaw. |
